Privacy Policy

Effective July 20, 2026 · CaseDNA · Energea Technologies LLC

The short version: CaseDNA runs entirely on your device. It has no account, no sign-in, and makes no network connections of its own. We do not collect, transmit, store on our servers, or sell any of your personal data — the app has no servers, and your searches, notes, and reading history never leave your phone.

1. Who we are

CaseDNA is published by Energea Technologies LLC ("we," "us"). You can reach us at energea@energeatech.com.

2. What CaseDNA does

CaseDNA is a legal research preparation and analytics companion. It ships with an offline database of published U.S. federal appellate court opinions and lets you browse cases, judges, attorneys, citations, and outcome statistics — all computed on your device.

3. Data we collect

None. CaseDNA collects no personal data of any kind:

Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for us to share, sell, or lose.

4. Your saved work

Cases you save, folders (matters) you create, judges or attorneys you follow, and private notes you write are stored locally on your device only, in a file protected with iOS's strongest data-protection class (hardware-encrypted whenever your device is locked). Deleting the app deletes them. If you use the export feature, the exported document goes only where you choose to send it via the iOS share sheet.

5. Court records shown in the app

CaseDNA displays information from published court opinions — public records released by U.S. courts, obtained from the public-domain Caselaw Access Project corpus. These opinions include the names of judges, attorneys, and parties as they appear in the public record. CaseDNA presents only descriptive statistics about this public record, with sample sizes and confidence intervals shown, and it never makes claims about bias or predicts how any judge will rule. Nothing in the app is a statement about any person beyond what the public record itself contains.

6. Outbound links

Case pages can link to third-party websites (for example, CourtListener) so you can read the full opinion at its source. Those links open in your browser; the third-party site's own privacy policy applies there. CaseDNA sends nothing to those sites beyond the standard web request your browser makes when you choose to open the link.

7. Children

CaseDNA is a professional legal-reference tool and is not directed at children.

8. Changes

If we ever change how CaseDNA handles data — for example, adding an optional online feature — we will update this policy and the app's App Store privacy details before that change ships.

9. Not legal advice

CaseDNA is a preparation and analytics companion over public court records. It is not a citator, does not verify current law, and is not legal advice or a substitute for a licensed attorney.
